Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being!

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying Cognitive Behavioral approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

about

 An introduction to

Darcy Lane MS, LMFT-T

Many of us struggle in life; however seeking treatment is the first step towards realizing and achieving change.  My goal as a therapist is to offer compassionate, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapeutic services to help you achieve your goals within a safe environment.  I utilize a multi-technique approach; combining techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotional Focused Therapy.  My focus is on treatment of the whole self, providing support while assisting you to work through a wide array of issues through acting as sounding boards and to navigating long-lasting meaningful change.  I am person-centered, with an emphasis on healthy and clean living.

My goal is to meet you where you are and help move toward where you want to be in all aspects of your life.  This is done through setting goals together, finding your core values, establishing self-esteem, challenging irrational self-defeating habits, gaining healthy coping skills and finding balance in your life.

Needs do not exist within a vacuum and therefore I take into consideration each client's experiences, family dynamics, and upbringing in treatment.  Therapy is a personal journey where the therapist-client relationship is most important; therefore I strive to establish an honest and warm working relationship with each client.

I am a Kansas native.  When away from the office, I love spending time with my family, any excuse to be outdoors and I am definitely a fan of all sports KC!  I graduated from Ottawa University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.  Upon completing my bachelor’s degree it didn’t take long for me to decide that a Master of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University was my next adventure in life, which I accomplished in 2015.  During my studies I worked as a clinical intern for Safehome serving individuals, families and children victims of domestic violence.  I am now privileged to be working with Psychiatric & Counseling Associates under the supervision of Janet Byars, MS, LCMFT.   Mrs. Byars is licensed as a Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist and serves as an Approved Supervisor for Marriage & Family Therapists in training.
